This study analyzes cassava cultivation and the production process of cassava flour by farmers along Emade Road, located in the rural area of Tefé, Amazonas, Brazil. The research is characterized as qualitative and descriptive, based on bibliographic review and field data collection with family farmers. The results show that cassava flour production is essential for family subsistence, relying mainly on family labor and empirical knowledge. Although some areas have better access conditions, many farmers face challenges related to infrastructure, transportation, and technical assistance. In addition, traditional practices such as slash-and-burn are still common, affecting soil quality. In this context, the study aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger and Sustainable Agriculture) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), by highlighting the role of family farming in food security and the need for more sustainable production practices. It is concluded that this activity has development potential, provided there is greater integration with public policies, technical support, and environmental education initiatives.
